Department of Child Care and Youth Services

Students started to be accepted to our program in the academic year of 2008-2009 for the first time. With the increasing demand over time, our evening education program was put into operation in the 2013-2014 academic year. Although the quota of both of our programs is 50, the fact that the quotas are full is an indication of the demand. 4 lecturers work in our program, and we offer a large and expert staff to our students with our colleagues who participate in our educational activities with their expertise in different fields. While the theoretical courses are held in modern computer-aided classrooms, the drama hall and workshops within the university are used for drama and handicraft-based courses.

The main purpose of the Child Development Program is to train auxiliary staff who understand the importance of the development and education of children aged 0-18, gain knowledge and experience about the habits and needs of children of this period, and take precautions for the problems that children may encounter. In addition to these basic objectives, it is aimed to train technical staff who recognize children who need special education, create a suitable educational environment for these children, and are conscious about mother-child health. Other objectives of the program can be summarized as follows: learning protection and care knowledge about pediatric diseases, having basic knowledge and skills about first aid, preparing educational materials suitable for children's development levels, choosing and using resources with high educational value for children, daily menu and food principles in the workplace. It can be listed as appropriate preparation.
